SafeGard CC-6100 and SafeGard CC-7000 - Cold applied conversion coatings react in a few seconds to give gold-brown coating with excellent paint adhesion and aluminum corrosion resistance. This surface finishing is completely chromate free. It does not contain any trivalent chromate conversion coating, alodine, irridite, zinc phosphate coating or polymers. This RoHS compliant aluminum surface treatment was initially used for in service repair of scratches in chromate conversion coatings and applications involving a small number of parts on a one-time basis. But as it is shown below, cold applied, SafeGard CC-6100/7000 is very effective of treating large structures that can not be dipped in a tank.

SafeGard CC-6100/7000 SafeGard CC-3500
Testing reports available:
Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) March 8, 1999 – Salt spray tested Sanchem’s SafeGard CC-6100 with SafeGard CC-3400seal#2 against Alodine 1200 chromate and found that they both passed the Mil-C-5541 corrosion requirements and Wet tape Adhesion Test.The Boeing Company St Louis, MO: August 31, 1998 – Passed all test requirements. Sanchem’s SafeGard CC-6100 with SafeGard CC-3400seal#2. The panels were subjected to salt spray testing (ASTM B-117) per Mil-C-5541 corrosion requirements, Dry & Wet Tape Adhesion Testing per P.S. 21313 and then Contact Electrical Resistance Tested.
SafeGard CC-3500 - This RoHS compliant aluminum surface treatment will give you a gold-brown surface in 30-40 seconds. Provides excellent corrosion resistance and paint adhesion. Used extensively when surface finishing with paints and powder coating applications.

SafeGard CC-3500 had comparison testing vs. chromate performed at Action Testing & Consulting Laboratory. They ran Salt Spray testing per ASTM B 117-94, referencing ASTM B 449-93 for performance requirements, and Tape Adhesion Performance per ASTM D-3359. Paints tested included: TGIC powder Silver, Azure Blue Polyester Powder, Static Black Polane T, C.O.S.B. Polane T+ & Black Wrinkle Epoxy Powder.
RESULTS: SafeGard CC-3500 meets the corrosion resistance requirements of ASTM B449-93. No isolated spots or pits were observed after the 4000 hour salt spray exposure period. All of the chemical conversion coating samples met the coating adhesion requirements of ASTM D-3359-95, with a rating of 5B. (Final test report is available upon request).
SafeGard 4100 - Dry in place aluminum surface treatment to prevent aluminum corrosion and discoloration under humid conditions. SafeGard CC-4100 is not affected by heat so it is often used in areas that reach high heat such as 400-500 F. Often used to prevent corrosion on in process aluminum parts and as aluminum can coating.
SafeGard CC-3000 – .This chromate free aluminum oxide coating has also been used as a cost effective replacement for light anodizing for both paint, powder coating, adhesive applications and is RoHS compliant. SafeGard CC-3000 surface treatment has been used effectively with paint and coatings that often have adhesion problems such as: Teflon coatings, high performance high temperature high solids paints, powder coatings, water based and solvent based paints and high strength and thermal adhesives.

Among the NADC test data (SafeGard CC-3000 vs alodine) available includes:Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy Test (EIS)The Wet Tape Adhesion Test: Modified version of ASTM D-3359, method A. Coatings tested include: MIL-P-23377, TT-P-2756, MIL-P-88582 & TT-P-2760.Bare Corrosion Resistance – 5% Salt Spray per ASTM B-117 for 336 hours.Corrosion Resistance (SO2/5% Salt Spray per ASTM B-117 for 336 hours.Painted Corrosion Resistance – 5% Salt Spray per ASTM B-117 for 336 hours. NOTE: At both 1500 hours and 2000 hours, there were no corrosion products in the scribe or blistering of the coating for any of Sanchem's chromate free SafeGard CC specimens. Subsequently, the coatings were carefully removed from the surface with a chemical stripper, without disturbing the underlying substrate. Upon further examination, there was no evidence of underlying corrosion on these panels. (Final test report is available upon request)
ARCHITECTURAL COATING TESTING by Tiger Drylac at Tigerwerk’s in Wels, Austria. They concluded that SafeGard CC-3000 conversion coating was able to pass their performance criteria for using SafeGard CC-3000 metal surface treatment with their architectural coatings. The tests they ran included:
