Paintable Rust Preventatives
Stop rust before it starts, safely and economically with SafeGard water based rust inhibitors and acrylic rust preventative coating. These rust inhibiting coatings are designed to prevent corrosion in extremely humid environments. These unique coatings have special characteristics not available with our standard high performance SafeGard rust preventives: SafeGard CS, SafeGard CC-13062 and SafeGard S can all be painted.
These corrosion resistant coatings are stable, non-flammable, non-toxic, non-reversible emulsions are easy to apply, quick draining and quick drying. These products can be applied by brush, spray or dip coating.
SafeGard CS is water based paintable acrylic rust preventative coating designed to prevent rust to metal parts due to high humidity. This corrosion prevention product contains consists of non-toxic organic inhibitors formulated with water-based acrylic polymer, has no VOC’s and dries to a thin clear hard tack-free film that is extremely durable. SafeGard CS can be easily applied by dip coating, spray or brush. Clear barrier coating prevents rust all types of steel and aluminum for up to 5 years. Drying time is normally 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature. This anti rust product may be color coded for identification purposes. NOTE: This coating can be painted over if desired.
SafeGard S is a water dispersed corrosion preventive compound that leaves a firm coating on the surface of the metal that can be painted with most paints except epoxies or stenciled over. This product is excellent for humid environments.
Corrosion Inhibitor & Conversion Coating for Steel
SafeGard 13,062RTU is a dry in place cleaner and conversion coating solution for use on iron, steel or zinc surfaces. When the surface reaction is complete the protected steel or iron becomes blue-black in color. This protective coating has excellent corrosion protection from the effects of humidity and is an excellent base for both liquid paints and powder coatings. Totally phosphate free, it can be used on applications where you currently use an iron phosphate coating.
